• GUSSEK HAUS: Environmentally friendly design

    30.05.2008, Beitrag von/aus: Stephan Hörnschemeyer

We at GUSSEK HAUS see ourselves responsible and practising environment protection day by day because of firm conviction.

The energy feedstock – especially natural gas, crude oil and coal – have only a limited availability on our earth. Renewable energy is the term used to describe energy flows that occur naturally and continuously in the environment, such as energy from the wind, sun or water.

    Solar
Solar thermal heating for domestic hot water is the fastest growing renewable technology across Europe. Using radiation from the sun, a sophisticated solar collector is used to transfer the maximum amount of energy possible in to a fluid which runs through the collector and which is then used to indirectly heat water in a storage cylinder. As solar thermal technology does not rely on sunlight but on solar radiation, it can work as efficiently in our climate to provide around 50-70% of annual domestic hot water requirements. Using the sun as a renewable energy source helps the environment, leads to reduced energy bills and means less reliance on gas and electricity for water heating.

    Ground source heat pumps
Geothermal energy is energy obtained by trapping the heat of the earth itself. Ground Source heat pumps offer energy savings of up to 75% and use electricity to run the compressor and the controls. Vaillant's latest innovation in domestic energy conservation will be launched in April 2008, underlying our commitment to develop effective renewable energy solutions.

The benefits of Ground source heat pumps
    - Clean and efficient use of free energy source to provide heating and hot water
    - Every 1kW used to run the heat pump generates approximately 4kW to heat the home
    - Low energy bills
    - Reduces use of fossil fuels
    - Reduces CO2 emissions
    - Grants available from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme
